Nutrien mining resumes

Four hundred and ten employees returned to work at Nutrien’s Vanscoy mine in Saskatchewan after a brief layoff.

A total of 610 employees at two mines were temporarily laid off, not 1,300 reported by some news outlets.

Nutrien said the layoffs were to enable inventories to be drawn down; they rose when the railways were not delivering potash as desired.
