McDonald’s Restaurants is appealing a Russian court order to
close three of its restaurants in Moscow as punishment for violating food
safety regulations.
Two more McDonald’s restaurants have been closed, also for
food-safety violations.
Russian businessmen claim it’s really the ruckus over
Ukraine that is the reason for the closures.
The U.S. has imposed economic sanctions on Russia to
pressure the it to pull out of the Ukraine and Russia has been retaliating with
bans on importing meat and other foods from Europe, the U.S. and Canada.
