Concord Premium Meats Ltd. is recalling Marc Angelo brand Genoa Salami
because it might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes food-poisoning
bacteria.
Listeria is what killed 23 people who ate luncheon meats from the
Maple Leaf Foods Inc. plant in Toronto in 2008. The outbreak cost the company
more than $20 million.
In Concord’s case, only one product is being recalled. Maple Leaf
recalled 243.
The Marc Angelo salami being recalled is in 100-gram packages marked
best before Dec. 1.
