Mark Tyler of
South Australia has been judged guilty
of marketing raw milk through a cow-share program.
That’s similar to the plan run by Michael Schmidt in Ontario.
In Australia, Tyler’s customers pay $30 a month plus a boarding fee. He
has about 50 dairy cows at his Willunga Hill farm.
Tyler failed to persuade the judge the milk is safe.
Raw milk sales are illegal and the South Australian Government argued
Tyler's "cow share" arrangement constituted a sale under the Food
Act.
"We've got over 2,000 people drinking it every day, really no one's
having an issue," said Tyler.
"There's virtually no proven cases of raw milk causing illness in
people," he said.
What a lie! There have been documented cases of hundreds of people
sickened by drinking raw milk.
Australia’s politicians have been urging a crack-down on raw milk sales since
a three-year-old boy from Victoria died last year.
