Two backbench Tories were in Waterloo this week
to announce a grant of $183,929 to the Canadian Animal Health Coalition (CAHC)
to help ensure that livestock and poultry are transported in a safe and humane
manner by certified transporters.
"The CAHC is very appreciative of this
federal government support,” said Mark Bevan, executive director of the coalition.
“Enabling the development of the Canadian
Livestock Transport online platform will not only increase the number of CLT
trained transporters but it will also allow the industry to develop and
effectively deliver other educational programs as well.,” he said.
The two backbenchers are Harold Albrecht of the
Waterloo Region and Michael Chong of Wellington County.
