Farmers lost on two questions put to voters in different
states as part of the presidential election Tuesday.
In Oklahoma, voters rejected a call for “right-to-farm”
legislation that was backed by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Oklahoma Pork
Council and a number of other farm organizations.
In
Massachusetts, voters approved a proposal to ban caging hens, sows and veal
calves and to ban the sale of products raised under those confined housing
systems.
