Two herds in
Saskatchewan are now under tuberculosis quarantine by the Canadian Food
Inspection Agency which pursued connections from 30 Alberta farms that are
under quarantine.
The situation
began when U.S. officials identified TB in a cow sent to a slaughter plant in
the United States.
The CFIA says
one of the Saskatchewan herds is infected. It has not said how many, if any
beyond the one that shipped the cow to the U.S., of the 30 herds in Alberta are
infected.
The infected
Saskatchewan herd is in the southwest corner of the province, close to borders
with Alberta and the United States.
If Trump were already in the White House, I'm betting there would be a U.S. trade ban on cattle and beef from Canada.
