Bees making a comeback

There has been a 27 per cent decline in the loss of bees to colony collapse so far this year, reports the United States Department of Agriculture.

That has helped to increase the total number of commercial colonies by three per cent to 2.9 million by April 1.

The reasons behind colony collapse disorder remain a mystery.

Two-thirds of commercial beekeepers report that mites remain a challenge.
