Perth County PED outbreak

A grow-finisher barn in Perth County has experienced an outbreak of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus.

It is the first case this year and the 128^th since the disease first came to Canada from the United States.

The highly-infectious disease is deadly to newborn piglets and spreads more readily in cold weather.
