Pork exports from the United States shattered records in November and are continuing strong.
The total for November was 259,814 tonnes, an increase of 26 per cent over November, 2018, and 11 per cent more than the previous monthly record set in July.
Exports to China were 589 per cent more than November, 2018, and totalled 78,776 tonnes.
The United States and China are scheduled to sign a trade deal this Friday. They call it a first-phase deal as negotiations continue.
China has sought pork from around the world to replace the loss of up to half of its pigs to African Swine Fever. It has recently begun rebuilding herds.
