World food prices continue climbing

World food prices continued rising for the ninth month in a row, hitting 116, the highest level since July, 2014, and up from 113.2 in January, reports the Food and Agriculture Organizaaton of the United Nations.


Cereals increased by 1.2 per cent, dairy by 1.7 per cent, vegetable oils by 6.2 per cent mainly because of palm oil, and meats increased by six-tenths of one per cent.
