Sask. farmers oppose tax proposal

 The Agriculture Producers Association of Saskatchewan is opposing a proposal to reform municipal property taxes to give resource and processing companies a break.

The farmers say that tax break would come at the expense of higher taxes on farm land.

Todd Lewis, president of the farmers’ association, said it’s important to maintain and expand the public infrastructure without imposing undue costs on family farms.
