Inflation declines

Inflation declined from four to 3.8 per cent in September and the cost of living went down marginally for the first time since last November, reported Statistics Canada.

Grocery prices continued to increase, but at a much slower rate. Year over year, prices increased by 5.8 per cent. A year ago they increased by 11 per cent.

Some food prices declined, including bacon, bananas, grapes, and some types of cheese.
