Livestock not in COP23

The livestock industry seems poised to emerge from the COP23 meeting without any mention in the agreement aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Instead almost the entire efforts now are focussed on the oil and gas industry with some urging wording that would call for the elimination of fossil fuels, including oil, gas and coal, and others lobbying for a net-zero goal that would grant credits for carbon capture.

Going into this round of negotiations, global beef-industry people were worried that there would be an attempt to curb meat production because cattle, sheep and goats emit methane.
