The federal government is giving $26.3 million to upgrade the ADM port at Windsor.
“By increasing our export capacity at Port Windsor, we’re helping our farmers get Canadian grain to international markets, which is good for economic growth and for global food security,” said federal Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez.
ADM plans to expand grain storage and install new grain-drying equipment, increase ship-loading capacity and develop an automated truck kiosk system to reduce wait times..
The transport department news release said ADM’s project aims to “address issues such as idling trucks, waiting times for marine vessels to dock, and locomotives shuttling around railcars for temporary grain storage on-site.”
