A vacuum truck sucking manure is blamed for the worst farm fire in North American history, claiming 18,000 cows at a dairy farm in Texas last year.
The fire marshal’s report fingered the manure vacuum truck, confirming the opinion of the farm manager. It was the second time a fire broke out at the farm at a manure vacuum truck built by Mensch and not falling under any government regulation.
The farm uses the manure for its biodigester which produces energy.
