House of Raeford settles price-fixing lawsuits

House of Raeford has paid Washington State $460,000 for an out-of-court settlement of a poultry price-fixing lawsuit.

It is the 18th company to settle with the state.

The state has mailed cheques to hundreds of thousands of people who bought chicken during the period of alleged collusion among the poultry processors to agree on how many chickens to produce and the prices they set.
