GMO corn, soybeans to resist 2,4-D

There are news reports that the United States Department of Agriculture has given its approval to new varieties of genetically-modified corn and soybeans that can tolerate being sprayed with Enlist, a brand-name 2,4-D weed killer.

The brief report by Associated Press says the varieties still require approval from the Environmental Protection Agency before they can be marketed to farmers.
