Europeans will buy more Canadian foodEuropeans will buy more Canadian food

Europeans will be buying more Canadian food after the trade deal reached earlier this year kicks into full force, says the Conference Board of Canada.

The board’s latest report on the Canada-European Union trade deal suggests Canada’s agricultural exports to Europe will increase by $70 million and total $149 million by 2022.

It’s also projecting the value of food, beverage and tobacco sales will go from $44 million in 2016 to $106 million in 2022.

Frankly, that's pretty small potatoes.

Maybe the Conference Board realizes that Canada won't have much beef to export and that the Europeans will continue to use a vast array of nuisance regulations to keep a lot of our exports out of their market, trade deal or no trade deal.
