Four farms released from TB quarantine

Four more premises have been released from tuberculosis quarantine, yet the total number in quarantine remains at 54 according to today’s internet posting by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

There are now 12 premises that have been released from quarantine.

There are still no lab culture-test reports to confirm that six cattle that tested positive for the disease were indeed infected.

Those animals were in one large herd scattered across 18 premises in Alberta. Twenty-thousand animals in that herd have been slaughtered.

Testing will continue into the fall when the cow-calf herds are rounded up from pastures in Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan.
