China kicks back against U.S.

On Friday, United States President Donald Trump said he is directing his administration to begin the process of eliminating special treatment for Hong Kong, ranging from extradition treatment to export controls, in response to China's plans to impose new security legislation in the territory.

Over the weekend, Reuters reporters learned that China has instructed its state-owned businesses to stop buying U.S. agricultural products, such as soybeans and pork.

It said China is also prepared to broaden sanctions if the United States takes more action on Hong Kong.

There was no mention in the reports about Chinese reaction to criticisms Canada and the United Kingdom made of China’s moves on Hong Kong.

What a crazy world of bullies.
