Swine Health Ontario reported three new outbreaks of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus on Wednesday and one each on Dec. 27 and 29.
Two were at farrow-to-wean farms, one of them in Perth County and the other in the Waterloo Region; a nursery in the Waterloo Region was also hit Wednesday.
There has also been an outbreak Dec. 29 at a finisher farm in Oxford County and on Dec. 27 at a finisher farm in Lambton County.
They are the first outbreaks since August 31.
