Steve Meyer is estimating that Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea
virus has killed eight million piglets across the United States.
That’s up from previous estimates of seven million.
Whatever the total, it’s clear that hog and pork prices will
be much higher this summer than they would have been if the virus had not begun
a little more than a year ago.
