Two finisher barns in Huron County have Porcine Epidemic
Diarrhea virus, according to the most recent information from the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
One broke June 9, the other June 12.
They are the second and third outbreaks this month after
there were none during May.
This brings the total in Ontario to 61 since the first case
in late January, widely believed to have been caused by feeding contaminated
blood plasma imported by Grand Valley Fortifiers of Cambridge to make
nursing-pig rations.
