Saputo cuts off B.C. farm

Saputo Inc. is refusing to buy any more milk from the British Columbia dairy farm where an underground video showed animals being abused by workers.

This is a classic case of trying to avoid guilt by association.

Chilliwack Cattle Sales, the largest dairy farm in Canada, immediately fired eight employees after the video taken for Mercy for Animals, an animal-welfare activist group, was made public.

While the family that owns the business said it has zero tolerance for animal abuse, records show this is not the first time it has been discovered abusing cattle.
