The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has opened a comment period on its proposals to extend monetary fines to the enforcement of all of its regulations.

Right now “administrative monetary penalties” can only be applied to those fail to meet standards under the meat inspection act.

The comment period is open until Dec. 20.
