Europe worried about African Swine Fever

The European Union's executive has declared African Swine Fever an "urgent challenge" because there has been an increase in outbreaks in new regions.

The most recent report is four outbreaks in Serbia.

The disease is highly contagious, is fatal to pigs although harmless to people, and there is no cure or vaccine, although there are several reports that vaccines may soon be available.
