Pork price-fixing case dismissed

A federal judge has dismissed a price-fixing lawsuit against the largest pork-packing companies in the United States.

The lawsuit claimed the packers conspired to reduce supply so prices would go up, but the judge ruled that they failed to establish “parallel conduct” among the packing companies.

Among those accused were Smithfield Foods, Tyson Foods, JBS USA and Hormel Foods.
