CFIA seeks opinions about handling dunnage

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is seeking on-line comments about how to deal with dunnage.

That’s the materials left by livestock or poultry being imported to Canada, and it could harbour pests and diseases.

The CFIA said it “has been working for many years to find an efficient, safe and applicable management program for shipborne dunnage.”

The comment period is open until Jan. 11.
