Mink farm has COVID-19

A mink farm in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia has been hit by COVID-19 outbreak.


The farmer and seven staff have tested positive and authorities have begun testing the mink that are now under quarantine.


Denmark has had sensational experience with COVID-19 linked the mink. All of its 15 million mink have been destroyed; the World Health Organization said 211 Danes caught the virus from mink.


Denmark won’t allow mink farming to resume until the end of next year.


Ontario is one of Canada’s main mink-producing provinces. The industry raised 1.7 million mink in 2018 and employs about 60,000 people.
