Veggie burger claims it’s meat

Impossible Foods is launching a national television advertising campaign that says “We Are Meat.”

But there are only plant proteins and spices in its burgers.

Five television spots ran Tuesday showing images of its plant-based burgers that specifically target meat eaters who haven’t tried its products, it said in a news release.

The ads produced by Portland, Ore.-based Wieden + Kennedy claim the Impossible Burger to be “meat for meat lovers — made from plants.”

It’s tagline says “We Are Meat”.

Not! It’s former U.S. president Donald Trump’s fake news.

“We are investing in a nationwide campaign to show Americans that Impossible products deliver the whole delicious, meaty experience people crave, without the disastrous environmental toll of livestock,” Impossible Foods chief executive officer and founder Dr. Patrick O. Brown said in a statement.

“We can replace yesterday’s ridiculous, animal-based technology with a categorically better way of transforming plants into meat. And we can do it with zero compromise on taste, nutrition, convenience or family traditions.”
