Five bats were diagnosed with rabies in September, reports the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
That brings the Ontario total this year to to 44 of which 37 were bats.
Ontario has had by far the most cases; Nunavut had 10, and Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan eight each.
