McIntoshes donate $1 million to UG

Jim and Brenda McIntosh are donating $1 million to the University of Guelph for nutrition research.

They are prominent egg farmers who have turned the farm over to their son,  Ross.

Jim was clerk-treasurer for the former Tuckersmith Township, a director of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and of the Egg Farmers of Ontario marketing board.

Brenda was deputy clerk with the municipality, has served on the Farm Debt Review Board and the Farm Credit Canada Advisory Board and as president of the Huron County Federation of Agriculture.

Jim McIntosh says they see their gift as a way to protect the poultry industry, bolster the research the industry needs and give back to a way of life so many Ontario farmers are fortunate to have.
