Canola spat with China

China says it suspended imports of Canadian canola from Richardson International because it found pests that threatened the Chinese ecology.

Richardson said it’s political retaliation for the arrest of the daughter of the founder of Huawei Technologies in response to a U.S. request for extradition to face charges of breaking a ban on exports to Iran.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said it has been double-checking canola exports to China and has not found any of the pests that China has complained about.
