Maple Leaf Foods Inc. plans to build a $310-million US
plant-based protein food processing facility in Shelbyville, Indiana.
It says the facility will be the largest of its
kind in North America and is part of Maple Leaf’s wholly-owned subsidiary, , Greenleaf Foods, SPC.
Construction will start soon on the plant that
will employ about 460 people when it is ready by late next year.
