New name for UG business school

The University of Guelph has adopted the name Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics in honour of the businessman whose son, Stu, was a coach of the university football team.

Stu and Kim Lang are giving the university $21 million, its largest gift ever, for the business school.

Gordon Lang founded and ran CCL (Conn Chem Ltd.) in Toronto which now employs more than 20,000 people in 40 countries.
University president president Franco Vaccarino said in a release the large donation "adds further prestige to our business programs and will help raise the profile of the school and the University to new national and international audiences."
Stu and Kim Lang live in Guelph. Stu played professional football with the Edmonton Eskimos before he joined the family business. He also served as head coach of the University of Guelph Gryphons football team for six years and is still a team adviser.
