Super Bowl ad dissed veggie burgers

The Center for Consumer Freedom bought an ad on Super Bowl Sunday to diss veggie burgers, such as those picked up by fast-food restaurant chains from Beyond Meat.

The television ad that played in the Washington, D.C. area, featured a spelling bee and a girl asked to spell methylcellulose, 
The young girl asked for a definition and was told it’s a chemical laxative also used in synthetic meat.
“You might need a PhD to understand what’s in synthetic meat,” the ad’s narrator said.
“Fake bacon and burgers can have dozens of chemical ingredients. If you can’t spell it or pronounce it, maybe you shouldn’t be eating it.”
Beyond Meat dismissed the and told Reuters news agency that its products are made with “simple plant-based ingredients.”

In response, Impossible Foods posted a parody of the ad on YouTube, showing a contestant given a much simpler word, “poop,” which was then linked to ground beef from cows.
