Sustainable beef releases interim report

The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef has released an interim report claiming “substantial progress” since the initiative was launched in 2016.

There are about 1,200 farms and ranches qualified as Certified Sustainable Beef Producers, two packers and three further processors.

That gives the public a supply chain of sustainable beef and in 2018 the Roundtable began an information campaign aimed at consumers.

Sustainable beef production involves regard for impacts on climate change, land use, water and food waste.
