Johanne Ross, founding director of the national Agriculture in the Classroom organization, has announced she plans to retire Feb. 9.
She said she wants to spend more time with her family, particularly new grandchildren.
She is a member of the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame.
The national organization was established in 2015 and Ross moved from elected chair to executive director of the association which has 10 provincial members.
Last year its programs reached 2.5 million students.
