Sheep fee hiked 45 per cent

The Ontario Sheep Farmers is hiking fees by 45 per cent – from $1.80 to $2.20 per animal.

OSF executive director Erin Morgan said inflation is partly responsible for an increase in costs. An ambitious five-year program is more responsible.

“Thirteen years is a long time to go without raising your rates,” said Morgan. “The last few years of inflation, greater inflationary pressure, definitely played a role.”

OSF launched a five-year strategic plan in 2021 that includes new programs and initiatives, many of which require funding.
