Rajinder Bali pleaded guilty to spray-painting “abattoir” on
the university’s stone gateway at Gordon Street and Colleg Avenue, but got off –
barely –with no criminal record.
Instead he is to serve six months probation.
The judge was surprised to learn that Bali is a professor at
Ryerson University in Toronto; he is also a Guelph graduate.
So, if the tables were reversed and it was a farmer pleading guilty to defacing the home entrance of an animal activist, do you think the judge would let him escape a criminal record?
