John Ross of the federal civil service will start work at
the council at the end of February and will be the executive director when Rice
leaves.

Martin Rice to retire from Pork Council
Martin Rice, who has become an institution as head of the
Canadian Pork Council, will be retiring at the end of April.
Ross
has worked on livestock industry issues, including chairman of
government-industry committee that dealt with the United States Country of
Origin labelling issue.
