Owner David Smith says this fire was contained to the upper
level, but until he hears from his insurers, he won’t know whether he can
service farmers with deadstock needing removal.
He earlier alerted them that they will either have to
stockpile their deadstock until he gets the plant up and running or find an
alternative.
The insurer had provided a subsidy to move the deadstock to
an Ottawa Valley facility while reconstruction was underway.
