It seems a bit late, but the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
has notified its U.S. counterparts that there might be pieces of plastic in
chicken processed at Maxi Canada Inc. between July 30 and March 5.
The chicken was processed into nuggets in July and 103,752
pounds is under recall announced this week.
The problem was discovered when a
consumer from the United States complained to Maxi Canada, Inc. of a foreign
object in the product.
Maxi Canada, Inc. initiated a recall on
March 5 and then the CFIA notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture which made the recall public.
