Farm & Food Care, OAFT,
the Ontario Agricultural College, The Genetics Literacy Project and Academics
Review have organized a meeting of leaders to discuss genetically-modified
organisms (GMOs).
The event will mark the
Canadian premiere of the feature documentary, Food Evolution.
Tickets are required for the
June 7 event at the Thornbrough Building at the University of Guelph. It begins
at 7:30 in room 1200.
After the showing, a panel will discuss the
documentary and the science.
It features Dr. Alison van Eenennaam, University of California at Davis; Mark Lynas, Cornell Alliance for
Science and Oxford, England; Dr. Kevin
Folta, University of Florida;
Adam Malima, former deputy minister of agriculture, Tanzania; Rob Wager, Vancouver Island University,
and Dr. C.S Prakash, Tuskeegee
University, Alabama.
