Donors provide milk replacer for B.C. calves

Lactalis Canada, Mapleview Agri, Dairy Farmers of Canada, Summit Calf Solutions and the Ritchie-Smith Feeds store in Abbotsford are cooperating to deliver milk replacer to dairy farmers affected by flooding.

Lactalis is buying 1,225 bags of milk replacer from Mapleview Agri, enough to feed about 500 calves over a two-month period.

“Dairy farms and farmers in British Columbia have been incredibly hard hit by the severe flooding that occurred late last year and the subsequent effects of this devastating event, including supply chain disruption impacting food availability for animals,” said Mark Taylor, president and chief executive officer for Lactalis Canada.
