Olymel’s exports to China suspended

Olymel has confirmed that it is one of two Quebec companies whose pork export licences have been suspended by China.

The reason is apparently paperwork and involves the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

After Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau told Reuters news agency that two Quebec companies faced Chinese suspensions, Olymel said it’s plant at Red Deer, Alta., is one of them.

The other is Drummond Export.
