Ryding-Regency recall expands daily

Scores of products and retailers are being added daily to the long list involved in recalling beef and veal sourced by Ryding-Regency Meat Packers Ltd. of Toronto.

The plant is shut down while the Canadian Food Inspection Agency continues to track down company customers.

The most recent additions include a number of halal-standard products. The company was one of Canada’s largest suppliers of kosher beef and veal.

The recall is because the products may be tainted with E. Coli 0157:H7 food-poisoning bacteria.

The CFIA says on its website that there have been no illnesses reported by people who have consumed Ryding-Regency beef or veal.
