Dairy farmers ask for more trade compensation

Dairy Farmers of Canada is lobbying the federal government for more compensation for market losses arising from the trade deal among Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The dairy industry has already been promised $1.75 billion in compensation related to the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal and the one with the European Union.

Trudeau said in the House of Commons this week that his government is working on additional compensation related to CUSMA, the trade deal with the United States and Mexico.

Meanwhile, farmers producing other commodities have been left sucking the hind tit.
