Feds give Ontario $11.6 million in COVID-19 aid

Ontario is getting an additional $11.6 million to help farmers stop the spread of COVID-19.

It’s a federal-provincial agreement similar to the one announced last week for most provinces except Ontario and Quebec.

Actions such as building physical barriers for worker separation, upgrading HVAC systems and enhancing hand-washing facilities will be eligible for this funding.

This money is in addition to the Ontario government’s commitment in June of up to $15 million to support workplace safety enhancements through the Enhanced Agri-food Workplace Protection Program.
